Peter rabbit (in French only)
text by Beatrix Potter, illustrated by Leonard Weisgard
Pierre is a very reckless rabbit. Unlike his siblings, he often takes great risks. One day when his mother is out, he defies the instructions she gave him by heading straight for his neighbour's garden. After having devoured some vegetables, Pierre comes face to face with the farmer, who chases him furiously. Forced to flee to avoid the worst, Pierre suddenly loses a lot of his courage.
Illustrated by Leonard Weisgard , this edition of Peter Rabbit first appeared in 1955. It is distinguished by a warm, sensitive and colorful interpretation of the story. Here we can guess the use of mixed techniques, which create a universe of varied textures drawing both on modernism and American popular art.
