The shadow elephant
By Nadine Robert, illustrated by Valerio Vidali
In the eyes of the animals of the savannah, the elephant is sullen, sad. They even seem to prefer shade to light. In turn, they try to entertain him, to make him laugh, to cheer him up, but all their attempts remain unsuccessful. Suddenly, a mouse crosses the path of the elephant. Challenged, he finds in her an attentive ear. A real meeting takes place. Are listening and empathy the keys to comfort? Would they have the power to free the heart from the weight of tears, from the vagueness of the soul or from melancholy?
