At least, that's what Java the tiger believes, captivated by the story of young Sanji.

The original edition of this album appeared in 1963 in the Weekly Reader Children's Book Club collection, with the American publisher The Dial Press. The album has been out of print for over 50 years.

 

It is being republished for the first time in French by Le Lièvre de Mars. The illustrator, Aliki, says that the challenge of this story was to find a way to present the face-to-face between the boy and the tiger as simply as possible, while illustrating the action of the chase in the background.
